4-14-14

Hello!!!

This week's motto: 1 Samuel 3:10, "Speak; for thy servant heareth."

So this week has been great as usual. Elder Kim and I are doing well and we seem to get along pretty well. Last Monday and Tuesday I went on exchanges with our district leader. That was fun. I always learn a lot through exchanges and through the techniques and examples of other missionaries. It helps me work more effectively and with more motivation.
One of the big miracles this week was that we were able to find 2 families to teach and start our Family English Program with (30 mins of English followed by 30 mins of gospel). One family in particular is really fun because they live just one floor below us. A few weeks ago Elder Kim and I decided to knock some doors. We were both pretty unsure about it because knocking doors in Korea isn't super effective. But we said a prayer before we started and just asked, "Heavenly Father, if this is effective and if there is someone we need to teach here, please help us to see that and to know that". Well, we did our best and then about a week later the lady below us called and said she wanted us to start coming twice a week. So cool and such a miracle! They don't have any religion so we are hoping they will accept ours!
In other experiences, we were street contacting this week (surprise haha) and a guy I had previously met came up to me and said that he wanted to go to our church. So we went with him right then and showed him our church. SWEET! We are supposed to meet with him tonight but he didn't answer his phone so we will see what happens!
Our baptismal date looks like it will go through. We met with our 92 year old investigator on Sunday and taught him a lesson. We only have one more to teach him before he gets baptized on April 26th. We will be praying hard and working hard to make sure that goes through. Surprisingly enough, we asked him some baptismal interview questions and he has understood and retained a lot more than we thought he did!
Also this week we got to watch General Conference. I love Conference. My love and testimony of the Savior and our Prophet grows every time that I hear the inspired messages. These are some of the themes that I liked and picked up from it. "Be thou an example of the believers", "Have the courage to stand up for your beliefs, and especially to stand alone", "Become what God expects and wants you to become", "Jesus is the Christ and will reign again someday on this Earth as King of Kings". I am so grateful for this opportunity to be out serving a mission. I am grateful for the opportunities to grow and learn and learn  and teach everyday. The church is true!
